If I switch to a different user profile on my mac, and use chrome from there, it works fine.

Just my main profile is giving issues, and thats where I havedo all my work.

No doubt deleting some specific item in there would fix it but I just deleted the lot.

I copied the link you sent - LibraryApplication SupportGoogleChrome - and it does take me to a bunch of folders but none of them are called Preferences.

I did lose my bookmarks and preferences, so back them up first if possible.

I got the searchmine malwareissue and there were several steps to get rid of it and Chrome not working at all, was the last thing.
